Beaches

The main beach close to the Villa is Anse Chastanet, this is approx. 1.5 miles. This is a spectacular crescent shaped, dark sand beach, and part of Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain. There is a beach bar and restaurant, Scuba diving facility (Scuba St. Lucia) and great snorkeling. Going north and walking the base of the cliffs brings you to Anse Mamin, another very spectacular beach, much quieter and also dark sand.

In the other direction at the base of the Hummingbird hill is the Hummingbird Beach in Soufriere. There are two restaurants at the back of the beach and good snorkeling at the base of the cliffs.

On the other side of Soufriere, at Malgre Toute, is another beach with views across the Soufriere Bay and backed by the Petit Piton.

A little further south is the beach at Jalousie, you have to pass through the Jalousie Resort to get to it. This is an artificial white sand beach with a phenomenal view as it sits between the Gros and Petit Pitons.

There are many more beaches both north and south of Soufriere. In general the beaches in the north are white sand and those in the south dark volcanic sand.
